Turlough O'Connor's creation, FinderPop, has become as ubiquitous as the old WindowShade (Yes, WindowShade was first a Shareware before Apple integrated it in MacOS).

File Buddy is a great utility for managing files and folders. It favorably compares to Aladdin Spring Cleaning and other, more expensive tools of this kind, and can do almost anything but dishes and floors, including:
+ View and edit a wide range of file and folder information;
+ Batch-rename multiple items, changing prefixes, suffixes, and sequence numbers;
+ Create volume and folder inventories;
+ Find empty or duplicate files and folders, broken aliases, and unused preferences;
+ Scan for and auto-repair broken aliases;
+ Rebuild desktops, even on floppies;
A desktop rebuild may be necessary for File Buddy 5.0 and the Finder to work well together if you ever used a previous version, but do not delete the old preferences file if you are upgrading, since it would result in the loss of previously saved settings and preferences, as well as your original registration number. Font Reserve is the most complete Font Manager around. If you need to have many fonts around for various projects, it's the best you can buy. It is not recommend for beginners, though, mainly because the price is fairly high and you may not need all these features. Try the free demo, anyway, and judge for yourself.
